We are creating a magazine (a special edition about the powers of the media)

Mission 1: Introduction to the media

– brainstorming about the media

– group work on pros and cons of different forms of media

Mission 2: How to apply for a job

– discussion about the steps to find a job

– discussion about cover letters: writing  cover letters to be hired in my magazine

– organization of  job interviews

Mission 3: Can media be dangerous?

– discussion about caricatures

– an editorial challenge: writing captions for the pictures

Mission 4: How to write an editorial

– discussion about the caricatures, by finding common and different elements

– choosing two pictures and making a Venn’s diagram to compare them

– discussion about transforming notes into a contrastive paragraph as an editorial

– personal discussion about their personal life ( each student has created a character as a journalist and during the lesson each student has to come to speak with me about him/her-self.)

Mission 5: Can journalists be seen as heroes?

– discussion about the different types of journalists.

– discussing about videos showing diverse experiences as journalists.

– writing a note about who the journalists can be.

– personal discussion about their personal life ( each student has created a character as a journalist and during the lesson each student has to come to speak with me about him/her-self.)
